Personal diaries from the Mass Observation Archive, kept by members of its volunteer National Panel. Kept usually on a daily basis, these diaries describe everyday life in Britain during the period 1939-1940. They offer an insight into the outbreak of World War Two, the Blitz and rationing from the perspectives of ordinary people.
